Wonderful red velvet hat from 1898. Five red velvet buttons adorn the front and a large velvet bow trims the back. There is an under the chin strap with small bow and a rosette in the center. Hat was probably worn with a forward tilt. A hand written label on the inside of the hat reads, "Alice Blue Peterson Wedding Hat 1898". Hat was originally purchased from a museum in Iowa that was going out of business.
